Myotherapy Modalities
Every Myotherapy appointment is individualised to the client and may be different from session to session, depending on many factors.
Below are some of the different treatment modalities your Myotherapist may utilise. Rest assured that all modalities will be thoroughly discussed and mutually agreed upon, prior to their use.

Soft tissue treatments
Myotherapists can draw upon many soft tissue techniques such as deep tissue massage, trigger point release, joint mobilisation, stretching and myofascial release. These modalities may be used to help reduce soft tissue tension, alleviate pain, improve mobility, increase range of motion, help with postural alignment, and to reduce the effects of stress.

Myofascial dry needling is a safe and effective treatment used to help reduce pain and restore healthy muscle tissue. It is a technique that uses single-use dry needles. The fine needles are inserted into areas of dysfunction in the muscle for varying amounts of time, depending on the particular presentation. Dry needling helps stimulate the body's natural healing process, releasing tight muscles and reducing pain.

Myofascial cupping is the use of specialised cups that are placed onto the skin. The Myotherapist can alter the vacuum pressure inside the cup to create tissue stretch. This form of therapy is designed to help reduce pain, tension, and tightness in the muscles and fascia by using suction and negative pressure. This technique can help improve circulation, reduce inflammation, and promote healing.

Electrotherapy
Electrotherapy is a safe and effective treatment used to reduce pain and swelling, improve circulation, and rehabilitate injured muscles. It utilises low frequency electrical current to stimulate healing and relaxation in the body and is often used in conjunction with other treatments such as dry needling, massage and exercise. It can provide quick and long-lasting relief for a variety of conditions.

Exercise Prescription
At Harmony Myotherapy we provide an individualised 'at home' exercise program, that is tailored to meet your specific needs and goals. These programs are designed to correct postural imbalances, improve movement patterns and restore muscular strength and activation, allowing you to move more efficiently and with less pain.

Stretching
Stretching helps to improve flexibility and range of motion. Our stretching techniques target areas of the body that have become stiff and tight, helping to reduce pain and restore balance. As well as administering stretching within an appointment, our experienced Myotherapists may create a tailored 'at home' program that is specific to you and your body’s needs.
